Narcissitic Personality Disorder

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a mental condition characterized by a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, a constant need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. Individuals with NPD tend to have an exaggerated and unrealistic sense of self-importance and believe that they are superior to others.

People with NPD often display a sense of entitlement, expecting special treatment and admiration from others. They may exploit others for their own gain, lack empathy for others' needs and feelings, and be unwilling to recognize or acknowledge the feelings and perspectives of others. They may also struggle with anger and aggression when challenged or criticized.

NPD is diagnosed by a mental health professional through a comprehensive evaluation that considers symptoms and behaviors, as well as family and personal history. Treatment for NPD may involve therapy, medication, and support from family and friends. However, people with NPD may be resistant to seeking help, as they often do not believe that there is anything wrong with them.
